Yobe APC Inaugurates Reconciliation Committees

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has inaugurated a reconciliation committee to resolve internal disputes among members and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committee is mandated to reconcile members aggrieved by the outcomes of recent party congresses and primary elections and address other issues affecting the unity and cohesion of the party.
Speaking at the inauguration of the committee on Wednesday, Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, said the members were carefully selected based on their records of commitment, dedication and service to the APC.
He urged the committee members to remain resolute, work collaboratively and place the interests of the party above personal considerations in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Buni said the committee was expected to reconcile, harmonise and reintegrate aggrieved and inactive members into the party and promote dialogue and mutual understanding.
According to him, the committee must discharge its duties fairly and impartially and maintain the confidentiality of its deliberations.
The committee is also required to identify members affected by internal disputes and develop lasting and mutually acceptable solutions to their grievances.
Under its terms of reference, the committee shall submit a final political harmonisation report containing recommendations for sustaining unity, expanding the party’s support base and strengthening its grassroots structure.
The report is expected to be submitted to the State Working Committee within two weeks of the committee’s inauguration.
Governor Buni expressed confidence in the committee members, saying their appointments were based on merit, and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the government and the party.
