Jigawa Chief Judge Receives Code of Conduct Bureau Director, Pledges Stronger Collaboration

The Chief Judge of Jigawa State/Chairman Judicial Service Commission, Hon. Justice Umar Sadiq, today received in audience the Director of the state Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Mr. Ashiru Garba, and his team on a courtesy visit at his chambers.
The visit, which formed part of the Bureau’s ongoing engagement with key stakeholders in the state, provided an opportunity for both institutions to deliberate on issues of mutual interest, particularly as they relate to the discharge of their respective mandates.
During the meeting, discussions centered on strengthening the cordial working relationship between the Judiciary and the Code of Conduct Bureau in Jigawa State. Both parties believed in the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration in promoting accountability and transparency in public service.
Key issues discussed during the visit included compliance with the filing of the Code of Conduct forms by public officers, as well as the need for continuous staff sensitization on the proper and timely completion of the Code of Conduct forms. The Bureau emphasized that accurate and prompt filing of asset declaration forms remains a critical pillar in the fight against corruption and in fostering public trust.
Sadiq welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the Judiciary’s commitment to supporting the Bureau’s mandate. He stressed that adherence to the Code of Conduct is not only a legal obligation but a moral duty for all public officers, and assured the team of the Judiciary’s continued cooperation.
In his remarks, Mr. Ashiru Garba expressed appreciation to the Chief Judge for the warm reception and reiterated the Bureau’s readiness to work closely with the Judiciary and other stakeholders to ensure full compliance with the provisions of the Code of Conduct Bureau Act.
