2027 Hajj: Yobe Pledges Timely Registration, Compliance with NAHCON Deadline

The Yobe State Government has pledged to complete registration and payment for intending 2027 Hajj pilgrims before the September 26 deadline set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Governor Mai Mala Buni made the pledge on Thursday when he received a NAHCON delegation led by its North-East Commissioner, Alhaji Abba Jatau, at the Government House, Damaturu.
Represented by his Deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, Buni said the state would work with the Yobe State Pilgrims Commission and other stakeholders to ensure timely preparations and improved pilgrim welfare.
He recalled that Yobe was the first state in the Maiduguri Zone to complete the outbound airlift of pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj, attributing the success to the commitment of officials, religious leaders and pilgrims.
Buni also acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima’s support for improved Hajj administration.
Earlier, Jatau said the delegation was visiting states to discuss new policies and guidelines from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. He commended Yobe’s compliance with Hajj regulations.
The Executive Chairman of the Yobe State Pilgrims Commission, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman Biriri, said the commission had uploaded intending pilgrims’ data in line with Saudi requirements.
