2025 Budget: Gov. Buni to procure 3 additional dialysis machines

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State says the government will procure three additional Haemo dialysis Machines for the State University Teaching Hospital.
He added that the government would also procure Reverse Osmosis, Fluoroscopy Machine, Fully Automated Blood Chemistry Analyzer, and other modern instruments, laboratory and hospital consumables in the 2025 fiscal year.
Governor Buni explained that the intervention was to cope with the challenges associated with increase in kidney malfunction and other related renal failure amongst people in the state, especially those on the fringes of Komaduku River Basin.
The Governor said this was captured in the state 2025 budget of N320 billion presented to the State House of Assembly.
The Syndicate reports that N108 billion of the budget was earmarked for the health sector.
The governor said funds were also earmarked for drugs, news buildings, renovation and expansion of essential structure as well as provision of equipment and consumables to the Specialist and General Hospitals across the state.
He said the conduct of vaccination and immunization exercises would also receive priority attention in 2025.
“Under the healthcare delivery sub-sector, we intend to consolidate on our gains towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of reducing morbidity and mortality rates among the populace.
“We have therefore proposed to construct an additional Maternity and Child Health Complex at the State Specialist Hospital (SSH) Damaturu, Pediatric Ward at the Specialist Hospital in Potiskum and Special Baby Care Unit at the State Specialist Hospital in Buni-Yadi.
“The services being offered by the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital (YSUTH) would be enhanced with the construction of a new Amenity Ward and Administration Block, as well as rehabilitation of the main building,”
Governor Buni stated.
