2025 Budget: Tinubu earmaks N4.91trn to security, N15.81trn for debt servicing
Nigeria will spend N15.81 trillion on debt servicing in 2025, President Bola Tinubu said while presenting the Appropriation Bill to the joint sitting of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Nigeria will also spend up to N4.91 trillion the defence and security of the country, even as sets aside N15.81 trillion for debt servicing.
The N47.9 trillion budget also comes with a huge deficit of up to N13 trillion.
President Tinubu said Nigeria will give priority to defence and security, Infrastructure, health, and education in 2025, with N4.91 trillion allocated to Defence and Security; Infrastructure, N4.06 trillion; Health N2.4 trillion; and Education, N3.5 trillion.
According to the President, the budget projects a revenue of up to N34.8 trillion, with inflation and exchange rate expected to tumble from the current 34.3% to 15%, and 1700/$ to N1400/$, respectively.
