2026 Hajj: Gov. Namadi appoints Emir of Dutse as Amirul Hajj
Gov. Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, has approved the appointment of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Hamim Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi, the Emir of Dutse, as the State Amirul Hajj and leader of the government delegation for the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim.
Ibrahim said that the Governor had also approved the appointment of four persons as members of the Amirul Hajj Team.
He named the persons to include Malam Umaru Nasarawa, Alhaji Kabiru Ali, Kachallan Dutse, Representative of the Emir of Gumel and Imam Nura Salisu Abubakar, Chief Imam, Kazaure Central Mosque.
Ibrahim said the appointments were made in recognition of their distinguished records of hard work, commitment, patriotism, trustworthiness, and piety.
“While congratulating the new appointees, the SSG urged them to embody these qualities as they undertake their important responsibilities, reinforcing the trust placed in them by the Government and the people of Jigawa State.
“The Amirul Hajj Team is expected to work hand in hand with the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board and other relevant bodies at the State, Federal, and International levels to ensure efficient and effective Hajj operations.
“All appointments are effective immediately,” he said.
