2027: PDP Receives 510 APC Defectors in Jigawa

A total of 510 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State defected to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dutse Local Government Area on Sunday.
The defectors from Sabon Garin Danmasara in Madobi ward of the local government area were received by the state PDP Deputy Chairman, Comrade Umar Danjani in Dutse, the state capital.
Leader of the defectors, Malam Mustapha Adamu Shugaba said they left the APC because it had abandoned its principles of fairness and justice.
He added that the APC led government at the state and national level have over the years plunged the nation into mounting economic hardship, instead of the positive change they envisaged when they supported the party.
“We can no longer be part of a party that has abandoned the principles of fairness and justice. We are convinced that the PDP is the party that truly cares about the welfare of Nigerians and will work tirelessly to address the challenges facing our state and country.
“We are excited to join a party that is dedicated to building a better Nigeria for all its citizens,” he said, urging other APC members who shared their concerns to follow suit and join the PDP.
In his remarks, Danjani welcomed the defectors, emphasizing their significance in strengthening the party’s position in the state.
“I’m using this opportunity to invite all like-minded individuals to join us in this journey towards a brighter future for our state and country. Together, we can achieve greatness.
“Today marks a significant milestone in our journey towards building a stronger, more united party. We are thrilled to welcome our new members and look forward to working together towards a brighter future for our state,” the Jigawa PDP deputy chairman said.
