A veteran journalist, Mr Paul Ibe says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is jittery and scared of the growing coalition to unseat him in 2027.
Ibe, who is a media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, said Tinubu and his supporters have since abandoned governance and running around to save a mandate that is already doomed.
He spoke as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today aired on Wednesday.
According to him, Tinubu’s camp have been bashing the coalition at every opportunity out of fear.
He however, said “Nigerians should keep their eyes on the ball, they should be focused. Better days are coming but we need to work for it, and that work has to start with ensuring that this administration is shown the exit door (in 2027).
“A united opposition is key to all of that. All of the things that are happening, that it (the coalition) is not going to work is because they are already scared, they are scared of the prospect of the coalition. Otherwise, why has that become a talking point? Whether it succeeds or not is not their business.”
Ibe described Tinubu’s government as “a total failure, adding that instead of focusing on governance, the administration has become fixated on how to retain power in 2027 without adding value to the lives of Nigerians.
He noted that everything now about Tinubu and his cohorts is about 2027.
“It’s all about 2027. Focus on the job, focus on governance, make life meaningful and better for Nigerians, and make food affordable. Let there be security of lives and property which is the primary responsibility of any government.”
Ibe also chided the administration for making false promises to Nigerians.
He noted that while the Tinubu government had promised Nigerians that the pains they are experiencing currently are temporary, there were no signs that things would get better.
