Fuel subsidy: NLC issues seven-day nationwide strike notice
Abuja — The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has put the Federal Government on notice to commence strike nationwide on August 2, over the lukewarm attitude of the government to address the hardships facing Nigerians because of the removal of fuel subsidy.
The NLC National Treasurer, Mr Hakeem Ambali confirmed the Central Working Committee had issued a seven day ultimatum to the government.
He said, “Yes. We issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government yesterday to conclude all negotiations with labour or face industrial action.”
The National President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero has yet to issue an official statement nor respond to inquiries on the matter.
