CAN, NOA Partner To Enhance Advocacy For Peace, National Unity

The Jigawa state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) will partner with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to enhance advocacy for peace and unity in the state.
The state chairman of CAN, Rev. Fr. Maurice K. Hassan said when he paid a courtesy visit to the Jigawa state Director of NOA, Alhaji Tijjani Ibrahim, that “peace and unity is the backbone of any development.
“Jigawa state CAN will expands it’s scope of preaching by partnering with National Orientation Agency for steady participation in public enlightenment and campaign for peace and national unity”.
He told the director that the association has mandated all churches in the state to advocate, preach and pray for peace and unity at all times.
Hassan commended the government and people of Jigawa state for their support and understanding to the Christian community.
“The government and Governor Umar Namadi are always involving CAN and considering Christians in all palliative distribution and interventions,” he added.
Responding, the NOA director, Alhaji Tijjani Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the association and it’s leadership for promoting national unity and patriotism.
The director emphasised the need for all Nigerians to contribute to the peace, unity and progress of the nation.
He also urged people of the state to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Namadi for sustainable development.
Meanwhile, the CAN chairman was also at the Vehicle Inspection Office where he commended the officials for the good job they were doing in protecting lives and vehicles on highways, and prayed for their safety.
He said that churches in the state will continue to preach and sensitise their followers to always obey traffic rules and regulations.
The state Vehicle Inspection Officer appreciated the CAN leadership, saying it was the first time that religious leaders pay a visit to their office to appreciate what they are doing.
He assured that they will continue to work harder to ensure the safety of highways.
