Fire razes popular Sokoto Kara market
An early morning fire has razed the popular Kara market in Sokoto which houses grains and other items.
The fire, which started in the early hours of Saturday, engulfed the entire market, reducing several grain stores and shops to ashes.
As at the time of filing this report, fire fighters are still battling to contain the inferno as shop owners outside the market evacuate their goods to safety.
The market authority has also taken measures to prevent the looting of goods salvaged amidst the crisis.
