Police confirm attack on 7 communities in Kebbi by Lakurawa terrorists 

The Police Command in Kebbi State has confirmed a midnight coordinated attack by Lakurawa terrorists on seven border communities in the state which led to the death of eleven people.
The Syndicate had earlier reported about the Sunday attack in Arewa Local Government Area which put the initial death at eight.

The Command spokesman, Nafi’u Abubakar said in a statement that the terrorists carried out the Sunday night attack using ‘sophisticated weapons’.

He listed the villages attacked by the terrorists as Dogon Daji, Danmarke, Yar Goru, Tambo, Birnin Debi, Garin Nagoro and Garin Rugga, all in Arewa LGA, which borders Niger Republic.

“As a result, 11 people lost their lives, and two others sustained gunshot wounds. The suspected bandits also set ablaze some houses in the affected villages,” Abubakar added.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Bello Sani, has visited the affected communities and interacted with the locals, police, army, civil defence, and the vigilance group deployed to maintain peace in the area.

The CP, after reviewing the security architecture of the area,  deployed additional tactical teams and charged them to decisively deal with the terrorists and other criminals operating in the area.
