Senator Donates Wrappers, Cash to 42 Widows of Jigawa Petrol Tanker Explosion

The senator representing Jigawa Northwest senatorial districts, Senator Babangida Hussaini has donated wrappers and cash to 42 widows of victims of the Majiya petrol tanker explosion.
The tanker, which exploded on October 15, 2024, led to the death of 209 people, with 124 others injured.
The senator had donated N10 million to the community immediately after the incident in October 2024.
Senator Hussaini who returned to the community on Saturday, said that the wrappers and N10,000 was for each of the 42 women who had completed the Islamically prescribed period of waiting before any of them could remarry.
Represented by his by Engr. Jazuli Aminu Ahmed, the Senator encouraged them to face life with hope and determination, and not allow the loss of their husbands to weigh them down.
He urged them to pray for the deceased, and strive to make the best of the opportunities ahead of them in life.
One of the beneficiaries, Malama Marka Yusufu thanked the senator for his care and concern.
“The Walin of Kazaure came here personally and donated millions of Naira immediately after the incident. He also sent some food items to us some weeks after, and has now come with another thing. We are very grateful,” she added.
