Tinubu 2nd Term Campaign Posters Flood Jigawa

Barely two years into the administration of President Bola Tinubu and state governors who assumed office on May 29, 2023, the leaders and their supporters seems to have gone back to the campaign trail as second term posters and billboards are taking up public spaces two years to the 2027 general election.
The Syndicate reports that in Jigawa State, where President Tinubu secured 421, 390 votes in 2023 and led in 19 of the 27 local government areas, residents on Saturday watched as Tinubu’s supporters paste posters and erected billboards across Dutse, the state capital.
The billboards and posters displayed Tinubu alongside the state governor, Malam Umar Namadi, advocating for continuity as they gear up for another term of four years beginning from 2027.
“Tinubu Continuity 2027″ was the common message on all the posters, suggesting that either Tinubu’s support groups, the All Progressives Congress (APC), or government agents were behind the campaign.
Commenting on the development, a resident of Dutse, Malam Zangina Danmama, said it was “democracy in action”.
According to him, even though it is too early to start campaign for the 2027 general election, the development reflects the spirit of competition and the right to choice and association guaranteed by a democratic system.
“We have seen APC supporters promoting their candidates, we are waiting for other parties to present theirs so that people can make their rightful choice,” Danmama said.
