Governor Mai Mala Buni has reaffirmed his commitment to good governance and the delivery of qualitative services to the people of Yobe state.

The governor gave the assurance in a message to the opening of a training for focal persons coordinating some key government programmes, organised by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

The training had the theme: ‘Towards a Qualitative and Impactful Service Delivery for Sustainable Development’.

Buni, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, emphasised that effective service delivery remain a top priority of his administration.

He explained that the training was necessary because the state has established strategic partnerships in health, education, agriculture, and environment, which require efficient coordination by the focal persons.

“This workshop is designed to sharpen your perspectives, encourage global thinking, and ensure local impact in service delivery,” he said.

The workshop featured eight technical sessions led by experts from the University of Maiduguri, development specialists, and communication professionals.

The key training areas were stakeholders engagement and community mobilization, public information management and digital literacy and problem-solving, inclusivity in governance and emotional intelligence,  and understanding the Freedom of Information Act.

At the end of the training, the participants resolved to apply the knowledge learnt to improve sectoral service delivery, and avoid politicising their roles to maintain effective partnerships.

They also pledged to strengthen coordination to prevent overlap, enhance digital literacy for better performance and promote inclusivity in community engagements.

The event was attended by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, and key advisers to the governor.

The focal persons thanked the state government for the training and pledged to support Governor Buni’s policies through teamwork and collaboration.

The workshop highlighted Yobe State’s proactive efforts in equipping public servants to drive sustainable development.
