A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim has dismissed speculations that the party will merge with the ruling party in the country ahead of the 2027 elections.

“There is no decisions on that for now, the structure and the party members are waiting for the directives of the National leader of the party and former Kano state governor, Eng. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on the next line of action ahead of 2027 general elections,” Ringim told newsmen on Saturday.

He was reacting to rumours that the party will merge with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The rumour is not true. The NNPP in Jigawa state or to say in Nigeria is waiting the national leader of the party’s directives on what and when to do.

“The current speculations that the NNPP will marge with All Progressive Congress (APC) and as some saying it will merge with the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), there is no decision on that yet. We are waiting for the leader’s order on what to do.

“I want to tell all our party members and supporters that, for now we are for NNPP and we will continue to work for the party.

“If there is any development, we will receive it from our leader Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, he is our focus and he is the one we follow. Whatever decision he takes, we are ready and happy to follow him for the development of the country,” Ringim who was NNPP 2023 governorship candidate in Jigawa state said.

He urged the party executive at wards, local Governments and state levels and the entire members to remain united and continue to  work for the success of the NNPP.
