NADCEL 2025: GOC Cautions Youths Against Drug Abuse
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army (NA) and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force North-West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Mayirenso Lander Saraso, has cautioned youths against drug abuse so as not derail their future.
Saraso, represented by the Chief of Staff 1 Division, Brigadier General David Nwakono, gave the advice while addressing students of Barewa College, Zaria, Kaduna State.
The talk show was organised as part of activities marking the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL).
The GOC warned the students that taking illicit drugs has huge repercussions on their future as individuals and the society, making them to be criminally minded.
Saraso added that the consumption of illicit drugs has consequences in form of vices and crimes, and ultimately derailing their lifè ambitions.
On the 162nd Army Day Celebration, the GOC said that the Army remained resolute in holding the nation together and in defending its interest.

The Syndicate reports that the event was attended by Principal Staff Officers of 1 Division, the Principals of Barewa College, Government Day Secondary School Tudun Junku, Gaskia road, and officials of Local Government Education Authority.
The event featured interactive session with the students, short talks and presentation of writing materials to the students.
