Gov Namadi Sings Sharia Enforcement Board Bill Into Law

Jigawa State governor, Malam Umar Namadi has signed the bill establishing the state Sharia Enforcement Board.
Speaking during the signing ceremony on Wednesday in Dutse, the governor said it was the culmination of over eight months of legislative and administrative efforts.
“Today, we have signed into law the Hisba Bill, which establishes the Hisba Board as an official institution in Jigawa State. This is a process that began seven to eight months ago, and today, by the grace of Allah, we have concluded it,” he added.
He commended the Hisba board establishment committee for their outstanding commitment, hard work, and sacrifice in diligently carrying out their mandate.
The governor prayed for Allah’s continued guidance for the Hisba Board and expressed the hope that its operations would bring greater social order and moral discipline to the state.
He urged Hisba personnel to conduct their duties with the fear of Allah, fairness, and dedication.
On his part, the Speaker, Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, represented by his deputy, Sani Isya, said that the executive bill was passed by the lawmakers because of its importance to the moral wellbeing of the state.
“We did the needful as at when due. All praise be to Almighty Allah, the bill has now been signed into law,” he added.
