Gov Yusuf donates N5m, plot of land to 22 deceased Kano athletes 
Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State, has donated N5 million and a plot of land to each of the families of the 22 athletes who died in a tragic auto crash while returning from the National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
The athletes, who represented Kano at the festival in June, won six gold, 13 silver, and 10 bronze medals before their demise in Dakatsalle town, Bebeji Local Government Area, about 50km from Kano.
The deceased included athletes, coaches, a journalist, medical staff, drivers, and mechanics.
The Special Adviser to the governor on Information Strategy, Ibrahim Adam, stated this in a statement via Facebook.
“The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has donated a plot of land and N5 million to each of the 22 families of the deceased Kano athletes,” he said.
