Banditry: Deploy Special Forces To Malumfashi, Youth Leader Urges NSA

A youth leader in Malumfashi, Katsina State, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, has called for the immediate deployment of Special Forces to Malumfashi–Bakori–Kankara Axis to curb the rising cases of banditry in the area.

Abdulaziz, who holds the traditional title of Sardaunan Matasan Malumfashi, made the appeal in an open letter addressed to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu.

He said that the special forces should conduct intensive operations in this axis for at least one month to restore security, peace and stability.

Abdulaziz told the NSA that: “A focused, time-bound, and coordinated military presence will go a long way in dislodging these armed criminals and restoring peace to the area.”

The youth leader said he is making the request on behalf of the voiceless and vulnerable citizens of Malumfashi, Bakori, and Kankara local government areas, who are suffering in silence under the growing wave of banditry, which has now reached an unbearable point.

“The spate of killings, kidnappings, and displacement of innocent people—particularly children, women, and the elderly—has escalated in recent weeks. Entire communities live in fear. Schools are closing, farmers can no longer access their lands, and economic activities are being crippled. The people are suffocating.

“We, therefore, appeal to your office, as the National Security Adviser to the President, to urgently consider the deployment of Special Forces—including the Nigerian Army, Air Force, Mobile Police (MOPOL), and the DSS—for at least one month of intensive operations in this axis. A focused, time-bound, and coordinated military presence will go a long way in dislodging these armed criminals and restoring peace to the area.

“Sir, your longstanding reputation as a man of integrity and national service gives us hope that you will not turn a blind eye to this humanitarian crisis. The people in these communities are Nigerians who deserve protection, peace, and the right to live in dignity—free from fear and violence,” he added.

Abdulaziz also called on Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters to add his influential voice in urging for this intervention.

“Alhaji Masari, your people need you now more than ever. We know your commitment to their welfare is unwavering, and we believe you can help push this message to the topmost levels of authority.

“This is not just a security matter—it is a moral and humanitarian emergency. Let this not be another cry unheard. Let history remember that at the time the people cried out, you responded.

“We keep faith in your leadership and pray for wisdom and strength as you continue your noble efforts to safeguard our great country,” the Sardaunan Matasan Malumfashi stated.
