Assembly approves ₦215.3bn 2025 supplementary budget for Kano
The Kano State House of Assembly on Monday approved ₦215.3 billion 2025 supplementary budget for the state.
This followed a request from Gov. Abba Yusuf which was formally presented to lawmakers during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Jibril Ismail Falgore.
Announcing the passage of the bill, the Speaker said the house had approved the sum of ₦215,378,374,543.62 after rigorous deliberations and legislative scrutiny.
He emphasized the house’s commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in the use of public funds.
“The House will closely monitor the implementation of the supplementary budget through effective oversight functions to ensure that funds allocated to ministries and agencies are used judiciously for the benefit of the people,” he said.
The supplementary budget was subjected to extensive debates and review by members before it scaled through the legislative process.
With this approval, the Kano State Government was expected to deploy the additional funds to priority sectors in line with its development agenda for the year 2025.
