LG Chairman Electrifies 10 Communities After 15 Years Blackout In Jigawa

The Buji Local Council in Jigawa State has provided electricity to 10 communities that have been off the national grid for 15 years.
The Chairman of the local government, Arch. Najibullah Falalu Tukur, made this known in a telephone interview with The Syndicate, on Friday.
“In fulfillment of our earlier promise, work has commenced on the re-electrification of the Yayarin Tukur–Kafin Madaki Power-Line to restores energy line that has been vandalised and left unused for over 15 years,” he said, adding that the power project will benefit 10 towns and villages.
Arch. Najibullah said more communities would benefit from the electrification programme of the local council aimed at energising the rural economy to better the lives of the people.
The chairman said apart from the power project, the local council has embarked on the rehabilitating of critical infrastructure to stimulate socio-economic development across Buji local government area.
“This decision reflects our administration’s unwavering commitment to improving infrastructure, rural electrification, and quality of life for our people.
“Similarly our local council awarded the contract of connecting more towns and villages with the national grid in continuation with our effort of providing infrastructure that would improve our people’s economy. Electricity is very vital in that regard.
“The benefiting towns and villages are Kwari, Nafara, Gantsa, Jibari, Tijiyo, Ahoto, Yayarin Tukur, Kafin Madaki, Yayarin Tukur and Abore”
Arch Najibullah reiterated commitment to fulfiling his campaign promises and to contribute to the attainment of Governor Umar Namadi’s 12-point agenda, and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We remain committed to ensuring the timely delivery of these projects for the lasting benefit of our people,” he said.
