KBSG Assures Continued Support To Security Agencies
The Kebbi state government has restated its continued support to all security agencies involved in the current fight against banditry and insurgency in the state.
The Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, gave the assurance when he received the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, who paid him a courtesy call in his office in Birnin Kebbi today.
The Commissioner outlined the critical support in logictics, allowances and intelligence being provided Governor Nasir Idris to the security forces since his assumption of office two years ago.
He said the government will be untiring in its assistance so that more effort will be put into the fight against banditry.
He advised the Defence Headquarters to organize a town hall meeting with critical stakeholders, including transitional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, and youth groups, to establish synergy that will facilitate intelligence sharing to support the efforts of the security forces.
Alhaji Ahmed Birnin Kebbi pledged his Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with the Defence Information department in organising the town hall meeting.
Brigadier General Gusau had earlier informed the Commissioner that they were in the state to see the impact of collaboration they had entered into with some media houses to enhance relationship with the public as it relates to the fight against banditry in the state and North West in general.
He emphasized the importance of working with the civil populace in all theatres and epicenters of war against violent crimes in the country.
Brigadier General Gusau commended Governor Idris for his unwavering support to the military, pointing out that the support had played important part in the successes being recorded in the fight against banditry in Kebbi state.
He emphasized the appreciation of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa to Kebbi state government for its commitment to the restoration of peace across the state.
