Buji Council, NSCDC Train 40 Security Volunteers

Buji Local Government Council in Jigawa State, in partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has trained 40 volunteers to boost security at the grassroots and promote social justice.
Speaking at the passing-out parade in Gantsa, the council headquarters, Chairman of the Council, Arch. Najibullah Falalu Tukur, said the initiative was conceived to enhance local security architecture in line with his administration’s focus on safety, social justice, and youth empowerment.
He explained that the council-sponsored training marked a major milestone in community policing, designed to strengthen collaboration between the local government and security agencies in safeguarding lives and property.
“Today, I had the honour of receiving the State Commandant of the NSCDC and senior officers at the passing-out ceremony of 40 trained volunteers of the Corps — a programme fully sponsored by my administration,” Tukur stated.
The council boss described the programme as a strategic step towards proactive security management, noting that the trained volunteers would play vital roles in intelligence gathering and maintaining public order.
During the event, the NSCDC State Commandant presented an Award of Excellence to Arch. Tukur in recognition of his administration’s support for community security, youth development, and institutional collaboration.
Tukur dedicated the award to the people of Buji, pledging to sustain peace and development across the local government area.
He also commended Governor Umar Namadi for his unwavering support of security reforms and for creating an enabling environment for local governance and community-based safety initiatives.
Addressing the new volunteers, the chairman charged them to uphold discipline, patriotism, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
