Ex-CDS Musa Pledges Support To Make Nigeria Safer, Stronger.
Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa (Rtd.) has pledged to continue to support the Armed Forces and work to make Nigeria safer and stronger.
“Retirement has not diminished my sense of duty to the nation. True service to Nigeria goes beyond holding office,” he said at a reception organised in his honour by members of the 38th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), in Abuja.
The event brought together serving and retired senior military officers, family members, friends, and well-wishers to celebrate General Musa’s decades of distinguished military service and leadership.
Reflecting on his career, the retired General reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the peace and progress of Nigeria.
“I will continue to support our armed forces and contribute to peace and national progress in any way I can,” he said.
General Musa also paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of serving and fallen troops, expressing deep pride in their resilience.
“I remain proud of our troops who continue to stand firm in the face of challenges,” he added.
He emphasized that true leadership should be anchored on values rather than titles.
“Leadership is not about titles or ranks; it is about service, compassion, and integrity,” he stated.
The former Defence Chief expressed gratitude to his course mates of the 38th Regular Course for their enduring bond and shared dedication to national service.
“Our bond as course mates is one of brotherhood and shared commitment to national service,” he said.
General Musa called for unity and collective responsibility among Nigerians, stressing that the nation’s progress depends on everyone’s contribution.
“Nigeria will continue to thrive when we all play our part, whether in uniform or out of it, to make our nation safer and stronger,” he said.
