Police Recover Convoy Vehicle Stolen From Kano Government House

Kano, November 12, 2025 – The Kano State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux vehicle stolen from Kano Government House on November 11, 2025.

The Syndicate had on Tuesday reported the theft of the vehicle at about 5am and driven out through the main gate of the Government House.

A statement issued on Tuesday by CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, said one Ya’u Inuwa, a 50-year-old driver in the Government House, was arrested in connection with the theft.

He said that the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, had ordered the ceiling up of all entry and exit points in the state in order to recover the vehicle and arrest those involved.

“Following sustained follow up coupled with intelligence-led investigations, one Ya’u Inuwa, a 50-year-old male driver in the Government House, was arrested in connection with the theft.

“The vehicle was recovered in Unguwa Uku, Yan Awaki Quarters, Kano, and is currently in police custody.

“The suspect confessed to having conspired with two other individuals, who are currently at large,” Kiyawa added.
