Group Wants Ex-Reps Member, Farouk-Aliyu As APC National Chairman

A prominent All Progressive Congress (APC) support group in Jigawa state, Faruk Support Organisation (FSO), has welcomed moves by the APC to zone its national chairmanship position to the North West.
An official of the FSO, Amb. M.S. Ringim, said the decision of the party was “a welcome and strategic step,” which would strengthen the party.
In a statement made available to The Syndicate in Dutse, Ringim said former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives from Jigawa State, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu, is well-fitted for the APC national chairmanship position.
“Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu, who represented Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency between 2003 and 2007, is widely recognized as one of the foundational pillars of the APC at the national level,” he said.
Similarly, former Administrative Secretary of APC in Jigawa, Comrade Ali Maina, noted that the current political climate places premium on selecting a chairman with unquestionable integrity, strong character, national appeal, and a clean record devoid of anti-party activities, qualities which, he said, Aliyu embodies.
He described the ex-Reps member as “a symbol of loyalty and unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals,” adding that his unblemished political, professional, and social record has earned him trust across the party structures.
“He is one of the most reliable pillars the APC can count on to maintain unity, stability, and progress.”
Maina further stressed that Aliyu is not associated with desperate political manoeuvres, a trait that distinguishes him from others who seek relevance without a solid legacy.
According to the two party chieftains, if given the mandate, Hon. Aliyu will consolidate on his long-standing contributions to the APC and propel its vision at all levels.
The Syndicate reports that the APC is expected to discuss the zoning of its offices during the forthcoming National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings slated to hold from December 18-19. The National Caucus meeting will firts hold on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., while the NEC meeting is rescheduled for Friday, December 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
