Yobe APC Youths Call for Regulation of Party Support Groups

By Muhammad Maitela, Damaturu

Youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State have appealed to the party leadership to bring all support groups under a single, coordinated structure, to ensure unity and prevent internal divisions.

Speaking during a press briefing on Monday in Damaturu, members of the APC Youth Leaders Forum called on Governor Mai Mala Buni and the State Party Chairman, Alhaji Mohammad Gadaka, to ensure that all support groups formally register and operate through the state APC secretariat.

Led by the State APC Youth Leader, Babangida Adamu Jajere, the forum acknowledged that  the increasing number of pro-APC support groups is a positive sign of growing enthusiasm for the party.

However, the youth leaders warned that allowing such groups to function independently, without official recognition or coordination, could create unnecessary conflicts.

“Support groups are important because they show the strength and popularity of our party,” the forum said.

“But when they operate outside the party’s official structure, there is a real risk of misunderstanding, division, and disunity.”

The forum pointed to the APC National Secretariat as an example, noting that support groups at the national level work under the supervision of the National Secretary.

The forum urged the Yobe State APC leadership to adopt a similar approach to ensure order, discipline, and effective coordination.

According to the youth leaders, making registration compulsory for all existing and future support groups would help strengthen unity, promote cooperation, and support the party’s long-term growth in Yobe State.

The forum also reaffirmed its full support for the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni and the state APC leadership, calling on all party members and affiliated groups to respect and work with the recognized leadership for the overall success of the party.
