Buji local government council launches campaign on CVR, APC membership card

The Buji local government council of Jigawa, has launched a sensitization and mobilization campaign aimed at encouraging residents to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) as well as membership cards of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure participation in the political processes.
The Chairman of the Council, Hon. Najib Falalu Tukur, said during a meeting with officials of the Local Government Service Commission and staff of the local council, where the importance of CVR and possession of APC membership cards were discussed.
Tukur emphasized that going forward, no resident of Buji council would benefit from government programs unless he possesed a valid Permanent Voter Card (PVC) as well as the APC membership card.
He stated that the policy was intended to strengthen unity and ensure collective support for government policies.
The Chairman said that the council had constituted a public sensitization committee, which would carry out awareness campaigns from polling units and wards to major towns across the local government area, in order to educate the public on the importance of voter registration and active political participation.
He also expressed appreciation to the Commission for the visit, which was aimed at motivating workers on the importance of obtaining voter cards and supporting the government.
Speaking on the objective of the meeting, the Commissioner of the Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Ali Yahaya Jahun, stated that the state government was fulfilling its responsibilities to workers by improving their welfare and paying their entitlements.
He therefore urged workers to support the government to ensure the successful implementation of the twelve-point agenda of Gov. Umar Namadi.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Alhaji Muhammad Lawan Haruna, urged workers to remain diligent in the discharge of their duties and to avoid absenteeism, in order to enhance effective service delivery.
