Jigawa LGSC strengthens institutional capacity through international engagement

The Jigawa State Local Government Service Commission’s(JLGSC) delegation is currently participating in a Six (6) Days international workshop capacity building on leadership, policy making, and implementation at Kigali, the capital of Ruwanda.

‎In a Press Statement issued by the Commission’s Public Relations Officer, Najib Umar said the programme is designed to broaden participants’ knowledge and provide deeper insights into effective policy development and execution.

‎In his goodwill message, the Executive Chairman urged the participants to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Commission, the Jigawa State Government, and Nigeria at large. He emphasized the importance of cascading the knowledge and ideas gained during the workshop to colleagues back home, ensuring that the benefits of the training are widely shared across the organization.

‎The participants include all the three commissioners of the Commission namely: Alhaji Aliyu Yahaya Jahun, Sani Umar madachi, and Abdullahi Idris Dauraw. Also in the delegation are Lawal Muhammad Haruna, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission as well as Sani yahaya Director planing research and statistics of the Commission.

‎On this trend, the Commission Under the leadership of DIG Uba B. Ringim (Rtd.), has achieved remarkable milestones in 2025. Notably, 1,682 staff were promoted, and 163 workshops and seminars were organized to enhance professionalism, efficiency, and institutional capacity at the local government level.

‎The Commission established and guided by Law No. 7 of 2007, continues to fulfill its mandate of managing the appointment, promotion, training, posting, and discipline of local government unified staff on Grade Level 07 and above, while overseeing general administrative activities across the state’s local governments.
