Board Begins Immunisation of Jigawa Pilgrims for 2026 Hajj

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced vaccination for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise, as part of efforts to ensure a hitch-free spiritual journey.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Habibu Yusuf Babura, and made available to The Syndicate in Dutse.
According to the statement, the exercise forms part of the board’s comprehensive preparations for a successful Hajj operation.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, described the vaccination as mandatory for all intending pilgrims, stressing that it is a critical health requirement.
He explained that the measure is aimed at safeguarding pilgrims against diseases and ensuring a safe and seamless experience from departure in Nigeria, throughout their stay in the Holy Land, and upon return.
Labbo emphasized that the vaccination would boost the immunity of pilgrims, noting that adequate health precautions have been put in place to guarantee their wellbeing.
He added that programmes are already in top gear to finalise all arrangements for the pilgrimage.
Also speaking, Head of the Medical Team, Dr. Abubakar Habib, assured that sufficient vaccines have been provided, adding that the exercise would continue until all intending pilgrims are fully covered.
Similarly, the Director of Hajj Operations, Muhammad Garba, reiterated the need for strict compliance with all health guidelines stipulated by Saudi authorities.
The Board expressed appreciation to Governor Umar Namadi for his continued support towards ensuring a successful 2026 Hajj exercise.
