Criminals suspected to be bandits reportedly invaded the Yashikira community in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, early on Monday morning, setting the Emir’s palace ablaze and abducting 10 persons.
The attackers also attempted to attack the local police station but were reportedly repelled by vigilant and galant policemen on duty.
The armed assailants came into the community and began firing in the air making residents to run for their lives.
Parts of the palace was set on fire while women and children were among those abducted from the palace.
The attack comes after bandits on Saturday night invaded a prayer ground at Ori-Oke Ajaiye, on the outskirts of Ikiran village in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing three worshippers and abducting 15 others.

However reliable sources confirmed that security forces have launched immediate rescue operations to free the abducted victims.
