JIGAWA @35: JIGAWA DECLARES THURSDAY A WORK-FREE DAY

The Jigawa State Government has declared Thursday, August 27, 2026, a work-free day to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the state’s creation.

This is s contained in a statement signed by the Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Dagaceri.

Dagaceri encourages citizens to participate in a prayer session at Jumma’at Mosques across the state as part of the celebrations.

“The government congratulates all Jigawa indigenes on this milestone and invites everyone to pray for Jigawa and Nigeria as they observe this historic day.

“The day off will allow public servants and residents to reflect and thanks Almighty Allah for the blessings and peaceful coexistence in the state.

“The declaration aims to enable people to fully engage in the anniversary events and communal prayers without work distractions,”he stated.

He urged everyone to utilize this day to appreciate the progress Jigawa has made since its inception and to pray for a brighter future.

The government emphasized the importance of unity and ongoing development, stating, “This move reflects our commitment to honoring our unique history and promoting community spirit among our people.”
