Jigawa Assembly Committee Commends Kirikasamma LG on Infrastructure Development

The Jigawa State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government has commended Kirikasamma Local Government Council for its remarkable achievements in infrastructure development and improvement in the livelihoods of citizens across the area, in line with the Twelve-Point Agenda of Governor Umar Namadi’s administration.
The Acting Chairman of the Committee and member representing Garki Constituency, Hon. AuduIlah Maku, gave the commendation during an official oversight visit to Kirikasamma Local Government Area.

Umar said that Maku, who was accompanied by Hon. Ibrahim Hashimu Kanya, member representing Kanya Constituency, and another committee member representing Maigatari Constituency, stated that the visit was aimed at inspecting projects executed by the council. He explained that the oversight exercise was to assess the quality and status of the projects, ensure compliance with due process, and guide future government activities.
In his remarks, Hon. Ibrahim Hashimu Kanya noted that the committee inspected several projects, including rural electrification from Madaci to Marma town, construction of drainage systems in Marma, provision of public conveniences at Marma Market, construction of mosques for daily and Juma’at prayers in Likori village and Gishinawo, as well as other development projects in Kirikasamma town. He added that contractors were guided to adhere strictly to the approved Bill of Quantities and standard specifications to ensure quality delivery.
Contributing, the member representing Maigatari Constituency emphasized the importance of proper financial documentation and record-keeping. He advised the legislative council to improve on maintaining accurate records, documenting meeting minutes, and enhancing capacity through training on legislative procedures.
In his response, the Chairman of Kirikasamma Local Government Council, Hon. Muhammad Maji Wakili, expressed appreciation for the visit and the committee’s guidance. He noted that the oversight function would further strengthen accountability and transparency in governance.
The Chairman also commended Governor Umar Namadi for his commitment to infrastructure development and improving the lives of people at the grassroots level. He called on residents to continue supporting the present administration to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
