Gov. Buni congratulates Muslim Ummah on New Islamic Year
Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the beginning of the new Islamic year.
Gov. Buni thanked the Almighty Allah for the outgone year, praying that the new year would come with more good tidings for the state and country.
“Although the outgone year had its challenges, we pray the new year would be better for the citizens of this country.
“Our administration would strive to provide succour to our people to improve their lives.
“The government is working towards changing the face of agriculture in Yobe state to move from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture.
“We are committed to making agriculture attractive and profitable to guarantee food sufficiency and food security across the state.
“You should please take advantage of the new revolution in agriculture to embrace both rain-fed and irrigation, as government is committed to this cause,” Gov. Buni added.
He urged the people of the state to continue supporting government policies and programmes for the betterment of the state.
“We should also pray to Allah for this year to be better for every citizen of the state and country,” he said.
Governor Buni prayed for the repose of the souls of all those who lost their lives in the outgone year and speedy recovery for the sick.
He also prayed to Allah to console families, relations, and friends of those who lost their loved ones.
