Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State says he plans to Inaugurate Community Development Committees in all the state’s 34 local governments areas to promote community-driven development by giving residents a say in determining their priorities in terms of projects.

The Governor made this known when members of the state House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Nasiru Yahya Daura, welcomed him back from a one-month annual leave and a five-day official trip to China.

He said that the aim was to ensure that government policies align with the needs and aspirations of the people.

Radda said he also plan to hold town hall meetings in the three senatorial zones to provide opportunity for stakeholders, legislators and the opposition to present their views, criticisms and suggestions on how to move Katsina State forward.

The Governor urged all elected officials to engage religious leaders to pray for the restoration of peace in the state.

He also encouraged them to adopt a more modest lifestyle and remain closer to their constituents, particularly during these challenging economic times.

Earlier, the Speaker commended the acting governor for his leadership during the nationwide protests. He welcomed  Radda from his leave, and pledged the support of the assembly to work with government and security agencies to address the security challenges facing the state.
