Buhari Donates N10 million To Victims Of Jigawa Tanker Explosion

Former President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, visited Jigawa state and commiserated with the victims of Majia tanker explosion.

The former president, who was out of the country when the incident occurred, was received at the Government House in Dutse by the state Acting Governor, Engr Aminu Usman Gumel.

He announced a donation of N10 million to the victims.

Buhari extended his condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased and those in hospital, and prayed for the quick recovery of those receiving treatment.

The ex-president also visited victims of the disaster receiving treatment at Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital, Dutse.

He expressed sadness over the loss of lives and offered words of encouragement to those recovering.

Buhari commended the state government for its support to the victims, including taking full responsibility for the medical bills of the surviving victims

Responding, the Acting Governor thanked  Buhari for the donation and assured that the money would be delivered to the targeted beneficiaries.

“Your visit and donation is an additional indication of your love, care and concern for Jigawa state and Nigeria at large,  particularly the common man,” he added.

The Syndicate reports that the former president was accompanied by two ex-ministers, Hadi Sirika and Professor Isah Ali Pantami, and Boss Mustapha, the immediate former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, among others.
