The Igala Youth Council says the Igala nation will never be a part of Biafra, and  condemned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for including Igala nation in  its recent declaration of the United States of Biafra.

The council adopted the stance at an emergency meeting held in response to a viral video outlining IPOB’s 40-state Biafran nation.

The Igala Youth Council said that the Igala nation was never consulted or invited to discuss this proposal and, therefore, rejects IPOB’s attempt to include them in their secessionist agenda.

The council’s National Publicity Secretary, Michael Achor Joshua, said that the Igala nation would continue to push for good governance in Nigeria, and should not be dragged into IPOB’s “madness.”

The council leadership called on Igala people across the globe to ignore the IPOB’s mischievous claim, and go about their lawful businesses as Nigerians.
