Gov Yusuf promises enhanced welfare for Kano students in India

Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State, has restated his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the state’s students studying in India.

This is contained in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature in Kano on Wednesday.
Bature said that the governor said this when he visited the Nigerian Embassy in New Delhi.
He said that Yusuf engaged embassy officials in discussions aimed at bolstering bilateral relations and ensuring the safety, welfare, and academic success of the state indigenes in India. He stressed the importance of supporting students abroad, noting that their academic achievements are vital to Kano’s progress.

He emphasised his administration’s dedication to creating enabling conditions for students to thrive academically and return to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.

In response, the Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria in New Delhi, Ubong Akpan Johnny, commended the governor for his proactive efforts and assured him of the embassy’s full cooperation.

Johnny reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare and safety of Kano students, as well as the broader Nigerian community in India.

Similarly, Malam Musbahu Sadi, the Head of Chancery at the High Commission, pledged continued support for the welfare and security of Kano students.
He praised Yusuf’s leadership, describing his visit as a testament to his dedication to the well-being of Kano people abroad.
