The Governing Council of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria has approved the appointment of Professor Adamu Ahmed as new Vice Chancellor.
The council ratified the appointment at its 209th meeting presided by the Chairman, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed.
A statement by the university’s Director of Public Affairs, Malam Auwalu Umar, said Ahmed will replace Prof. Kabir Bala whose tenure has expired.
The new vice-chancellor is from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, and had headed the university’s Directorate of Advancement.
Ahmed is currently the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University of Education, Kano.
