The move followed escalating legal tussles stemming from a rift between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The feud has led to a surge of legal cases from political actors in the state and a deluge of conflicting judgments from courts of similar authority.
Members of the special panel are Justice Onyekachi Otisi, Justice Misitura Bokaji-Yusuf and Justice James Abundaga.
Otisi will head the panel that will sit and determine all the political cases from Rivers state currently before the appellate court.
