ADC Inaugurates Key Committees to Strengthen Party Structure in Yobe

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Yobe State has officially launched two committees aimed at bolstering the party’s structure and ensure the commissioning the party’s Secretariat in the state.
During the inauguration, in Damaturu, the party leader, Adamu Maina Waziri emphasized that these committees are crucial for managing the party’s operations and enhancing engagement at the grassroots level.
He elaborated that the Transitional Leadership Committee will collaborate closely with the current state leadership to pinpoint key offices, raise public awareness, rally supporters, and coordinate activities throughout the state.
The committee is led by Hon. Mohammed Kori, a former member of the House of Representatives, and includes representatives from each senatorial district.
Waziri also mentioned the Committee for Registration and Revalidation, which is chaired by Prof. Mohamad Ibrahim Jawa.
“This committee’s role is to revalidate current members and bring in new ones.
“It consists of a secretary and three members from each senatorial zone, totaling eleven (11) members.” He said.
He said both committees have been tasked with establishing their structures at the state, local government, ward, and unit levels within the next 90 days.
Waziri noted that this initiative will set the stage for upcoming congresses to elect substantive leaders at all levels in preparation for the national convention.
When asked about the potential impact of recent defections from the PDP to the APC on the ADC, Waziri brushed off the concerns.
He pointed out that he himself made the switch from the PDP to the ADC, describing it as a “game changer and crowd puller.”
Waziri expressed his belief that by the time the 2027 general elections roll around, the ADC will stand out as the strongest opposition party in Yobe State, with aspirations to reclaim the Government House.
Regarding the surge of new supporters, he revealed that a prominent figure from Damaturu joined the party along with over 1,000 supporters, while another brought in more than 500.
He added that new members are being received daily, and with the inauguration of the two committees, the process will now be formalized.
“I am very glad to talk about the growing support for the party,” he said.
