A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC),Allaji Alhassan Yaryasa, has appealed to the Federal Government to intervene and reconstruct the collapsed Yaryasa Bridge in Tudun Wada Local Government Area(LGA) of  Kano State.

Yaryasa, also a community leader, spoke with newsmen on Saturday in Kano, saying that the call was necessary in view of the importance of the bridge which linked Kano State with Kaduna, Plateau, Benue, and the eastern part of the country.

He said that most of the people in the area were farmers and could no longer transport their farm produce to various markets in the state due to the collapse of the bridge.

“The Yaryasa bridge links Kano State and other states, including Kaduna,  Plateau, Benue,  and the eastern part of the country.

“We appealing to the Federal Government to come to the aid of the communities living along the Kano- Tudunwada road because they have been cut off from the state capital and other states linking the state,” he said.

Yaryasa said that vehicles plying the road were being diverted to a designated alternative route to avoid risks to life and property.

“As the moment other police officers from the Motor Traffic Division, along with personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps, Kano Road and Traffic Agency, and members of the Transport Union are the ones on ground controlling motorist from both sides of the collapsed bridge,” he said.
