APC Wins Jigawa Reps By-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Alhaji Mukhtar Rabi’u Garki, candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), winner of the by-election for Babura/Garki federal constituency in Jigawa state.
The result was declared by the Returning Officer, Professor Salisu Ibrahim, on Sunday in Babura.
He said the APC candidate secured 38,449 votes to beat his closest rival, Alhaji Auwalu Isah Manzo of the PPeoples emocratic Party (PDP), who recorded 13,519 votes, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Malam Sabo Salisu, who had 2,931 votes.
“I Professor Salisu Ibrahim, the returning officer for Babura /Garki federal constituency by-election held on 16/08/2025, hereby declare Alhaji Rabi’u Mukhtar Garki, having been fulfilled all the requirements of the law and got highest number of votes as the winner of the election,” he said.
