Association Rejects Jigawa Govt Health Personnel Recruitment List

The Miga Youth Development Association has rejected the list released by Jigawa State Government of health personnel recruited recently by the government.
The association in a petition said Miga Local Government Area was marginalised in the recruitment exercise.
The petition, which was addressed to the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Muhammad Abdullahi Kainuwa and a copy obtained by The Syndicate in Dutse, demanded quick action to address the alleged injustice.
The document titled ‘Petition In respect of J-Health List Released on Friday 28th of February 2025’, was jointly signed by the association’s chairman and secretary, Abubakar Ahmed Miga and Abdurrashid Ali Zareko, respectively.
The association alleged that some of those whose names appeared on the list ascribed to Miga, were not indigenous to the area.
“We observed that the list of Miga local government contained the names of some individuals from other locals government areas, which is clearly an injustice.
“Our complaint is in line with the Jigawa state government’s commitment to accountability, transparency and good governance under Governor Malam Umar Namadi,” it further stated.
The association, therefore, demanded immediate correction of the anomaly in the interest of justice and fairness.
When contacted, the commissioner dismissed the allegation, saying that Miga local government area was even given special consideration in the recruitment exercise.
According to him, the governor approved the recruitment of 1000 health personal under J-Health Scheme, 30 people from each of the 30 state assembly constituencies.
“The total number is 900, but the remaining 100 positions was shared among some disadvantaged local government areas and Miga is one of them, where they got the vacancy of 40 people instead of 30.
“Selection and recruitment was done by a committee constituted by the state government which comprised all stakeholders.
“This, include traditional and religious leaders, selected and appointed political leaders, professionals and technocrats. They went round all the 27 local government areas and conducted their assignments in accordance of the government guidelines,” Dr Kainuwa said.
