The Baro Inland Port which was commissioned in 2019 by former President Muhammadu Buhari has remained largely non-operational due to lack of critical infrastructure, including road and rail connections necessary for port activities.

The minister said he was not summoned by the National Assembly on the project as being speculated, but only invited to participate in a stakeholders’ engagement organised by the Ad-hoc Committee on National Stakeholders Engagement on the Challenges and Prospects of the Baro Inland Port.
