BREAKING: Bandits abduct 67, kill 5 in Katsina
Bandits have abducted 67 people in two separate attacks on villages in Katsina State on Sunday night and early Monday morning.
Reports from Ɗandume Local Government Area of the state confirmed the abduction of 56 people from Maikwama village on Sunday night.
The attackers also killed five of the villagers in a gruesome manner.
In another attack on Yanshantuna village, Maƙera ward of Dutsin-ma local government, the bandits abducted 11 people, comprising nine females and two males on Monday morning. They also injured a pregnant woman.
Intelligence sources indicated that another group of bandits blocked the Mararrabar Kankara-Katsina road between Burdugau and Yar Goje on Sunday night.
It was not clear whether they succeeded in abducting passengers, but occupants of a vehicle they attempted to abduct were able to pass through the hail of bullets to safety.
