BREAKING: Court acquits DCP Abba Kyari of money laundering charges

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court Abuja has discharged and acquitted DCP Abba Kyari of asset declaration and money laundering allegations brought against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA).
After a full trial in which witnesses testified and evidence presented, the Court held that the prosecution failed to prove the allegations beyond reasonable doubt, as required by law.
Accordingly, the court discharged and acquitted Abba Kyari alongside his two brothers, Muhammed Baba Kyari and Ali Baba Kyari, of all the 23 charges contained in suit NO: FHC/ABJ/CR/408/2022.
The case, one of the two instituted against Kyari by the NDLEA, has lingered for over four years.
In the second case No: FHC/ABJ/CR/57/2022 pending before the Federal High Court, the prosecution has already closed its case, and the defence is currently presenting evidences.
