BREAKING: Tinubu, APC Govs Meet Over Protest

President Bola Tinubu and Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are meeting behind closed doors ostensibly to strategise on how to stop the nationwide bad governance protest to be held by youths across the country from August 1 to  10.

The Syndicate reports that the governors, among them Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Uba Sani, Kaduna, and Bassey Otu, Cross River, arrived in the Presidential Villa in a Bus were immediately ushered into the President’s office.

The government has been making frantic efforts to end the protest, with warnings coming from security agencies on its dangers. However, in spite of the admonishing and negative campaign against the protest, it has continued to gather momentum.

President Tinubu has asked those planning the protest to shelve the idea and await his government’s response to their grievances.

On Wednesday, the APC governors had after a closed-door meeting in Abuja, said they would sit with the organizers of the protest to know their grievances.

“We don’t know what they are protesting for. We invite all of them to sit down with us in a room so we can discuss and agree on the issues, what they are and proffer solutions.

“We as a body, we are committed to the unity of the country, we are committed to whatever thing that makes Nigerians live better lives, bring prosperity, jobs to be created for young boys and girls who graduated to be employed,” their Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, said.
