Buni distributes 47 operational vehicles, 50 motorcycles to security agencies

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, on Tuesday distributed 47 operational vehicles and 50 motorcycles to security agencies to boost security in the state.
“The purpose of today’s occasion is to step up government’s efforts towards supporting security agencies to enable them to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently,” Gov. Buni said.
He explained that provision of logistics was crucial to improving the operational efficiencies of the personnel, adding each police divisional office would receive one vehicle.
Also listed among the beneficiaries were the State Police Headquarters, the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services, Correctional Service, Immigration and Civil Defence Corps.
The rest included National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.
Also included on the list of beneficiaries were the chairmen of the 17 local government areas in the state.
The state government also distributed the 50 motorcycles to the various security agencies.
Governor Buni directed local government chairmen to take full responsibility for the maintenance of the vehicles and motorcycles.
He expressed his appreciation to the Federal Government and security agencies for their role in ensuring peace and security across the state.
“Let me seize this opportunity to appreciate the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his support in ensuring that we have peace and security in Yobe State.
“I also wish to express our profound gratitude to the men and officers of the security agencies, as well as members of the vigilante groups and hunters, for their dedication and gallantry,” he said.
Earlier, the Special Adviser on Security Affairs to the Governor, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd.), said the state would continue to provide logistics, accommodation, and all necessary support to security operatives.
